Potatoes

Frederick Hiam Ltd grows around 1,800 acres of Potatoes on owned and rented land, specialising in off the field sales from early July and focusing on the Pre-pack sector. All potato crops are irrigated and soil types vary from very light sands to black fen.

Varieties include:
Marfona, Saxon, Melody, Sante, Harmony and Maris Piper.

Specialist varieties of main crop and salads are grown on contract for a number of Retailers.

The Business is structured to be able to harvest and dispatch large volumes of Potatoes. In peak season, with 4 harvesters operating 700 tonnes per day can be out loaded.

Refrigerated box storage for over 8,000 tonnes is available at 4 different sites.
